East African Regional Tourism Exhibition about to begin

The 2nd East African Regional Tourism Exhibition happening now in Bujumbura.

The Uganda Embassy Bujumbura in conjunction with stake holders in the tourism industry from Uganda will be participating in the event with the opening ceremony in a few hours from now.

Other Participants from the EAC region are taking part as well.

3rd Session of Uganda-Burundi Joint Permanent Commission concluded successfully in Bujumbura

The 3rd Session of the Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) between the Republic of Burundi and the Republic of Uganda was held in Bujumbura, Burundi from March 22 - 24, 2022. The Session aimed to evaluate: the implementation status of decisions agreed upon during the 2nd Session of the JPC held in Kampala, Uganda, on 26th - 28th, August 1991; Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) signed between both countries;

The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Bujumbura officially commissioned its Official Chancery this Monday morning. The Special Envoy of H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda officiated at the ceremony. Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda opened his statements by asking the audience to observe a minute of silence in honor Uganda's fallen Speaker of Parliament, Late Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah who passed away on 20th March 2022. He expressed gratitude for the message of condolence from the people of Burundi through His Excellency President Evariste Ndayishimiye.

The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Bujumbura officially commissioned its Official Chancery this Monday morning. The event was attended by officials of both Governments of Uganda and Burundi, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, the Private sector, Religious leaders, the Ugandan Community living Burundi, the Media and Ugandan Businesses operating in Burundi who had exhibition of their goods and services. Hon. John Mulimba, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs - Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Uganda, paid a visit to the newly commissioned chancery offices for the Embassy of Uganda in Bujumbura. He was joined by Ambassador Elly Kamahungye, the Director of RIEA and Ambassador Katureebe Tayebwa, the Head of Department Regional Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Uganda.
